Wood is a fascinating, yet challenging, material. I have spent a lifetime acquiring the knowledge and skills to work with wood and now your woodworking can benefit from that experience. Advance your woodworking skills in a professional shop setting, while enjoying the company of people who share your woodworking interests. Classes are kept small to ensure each student receives plenty of one-on-one instruction and prices include materials.
Current Class offerings
Over the course of this three-day class you will learn to use most woodworking tools while constructing your own bonsai stand. Learn how to mill rough lumber, make a reinforced miter joint, add carved details using a router, and how to finish your piece. This class is designed for beginners, however even intermediate students can hone their techniques and learn new tricks.

$750 - materials included, class size limited to three spaces.
Wood is not an inert material; this three-hour lecture covers how and why wood behaves the way it does, and how to make it work for you. Class will cover seasonal movement, different way of milling lumber and how to factor these into your design. Also we will talk about the characteristics, both good and bad, of common lumber species and how to use them effectively. A great class for any beginner, but will still inform intermediate woodworkers.
